I attended QEF for a driving assessment late last year and was provided with the contact details of a few driving instructors in my area who could potentially teach me to drive using a car adapted for use with hand controls. I started lessons with Paul Chambers in January 2016 and successfully passed both my theory and practical tests first time. I feel that this is a testament to the approach Paul takes to tuition.
He is extremely, patient, clear and calm during lessons, which creates a positive learning environment and I feel he has also provided me with just the right amount of discussion and driving practice during our lessons. He is also committed to the success of his students, offering flexible lesson times, which have accommodated my busy schedule (we have almost exclusively met for lessons on Sundays and he has also accommodated an evening lesson).
When I first started driving lessons Paul had a steering ball, which I, and a couple of other students commented felt quite heavy and was difficult to use. Paul was responsive to our feedback and obtained a different steering ball, which was a lot easier to use. This shows me that he takes time to consider the needs of his students, which is an extremely important quality in an instructor who teaches students with such a wide variety of needs.
I am currently undertaking the Pass Plus course with Paul and he continues to provide me with support and high quality lessons. I would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and acquaintances wishing to learn to drive and I also felt compelled to let you know of my positive experience of working in partnership with him.
